Hampta Pass Trek is one of Himachal Pradesh’s most spectacular crossover treks, taking you from the lush green valleys of Manali to the vast, barren landscapes of Lahaul. This journey showcases the incredible diversity of the Himalayas — from dense forests and alpine meadows to high-altitude passes and dramatic mountain deserts.
The trek begins from the beautiful Jobra region near Manali and takes you through the scenic Hampta Valley, where you walk alongside rivers, waterfalls, and colourful Himalayan landscapes. As you gain altitude, the trail leads to the magnificent Hampta Pass (14,100 ft approx.), offering breathtaking views of snow-covered peaks and the contrasting landscapes of Lahaul Valley.
Crossing the pass feels like entering another world — where green mountains transform into rugged desert landscapes. The journey concludes near Chandratal Lake (subject to weather and road conditions), one of the most beautiful high-altitude lakes in Himachal Pradesh.

DAY 1: MANALI – JOBRA – CHIKA CAMP
Arrive at Manali and drive towards Jobra, the starting point of the Hampta Pass Trek. After a trek briefing and preparation, begin your journey through beautiful forests of pine, oak, and maple.
The trail takes you through scenic Himalayan landscapes with stunning mountain views. Reach Chika campsite and enjoy the peaceful surroundings of the Hampta Valley.
Drive Distance: Approx. 16 km (Manali to Jobra)
Trek Distance: Approx. 2 km
Duration: 1–2 hours
Altitude: Approx. 10,100 ft
Overnight Stay: Chika Camp
Meals: Dinner
DAY 2: CHIKA – BALU KA GHERA
After breakfast, begin your trek alongside the Hampta River. Walk through lush green valleys, waterfalls, and beautiful alpine landscapes.
The trail gradually gains altitude, offering magnificent views of the surrounding Himalayan peaks. Reach Balu Ka Ghera campsite and relax amidst the mountains.
Trek Distance: Approx. 8 km
Duration: 5–6 hours
Altitude: Approx. 12,000 ft
Overnight Stay: Balu Ka Ghera Camp
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner
DAY 3: BALU KA GHERA – HAMPTA PASS – SIAGORU
Today is the most adventurous day of the trek as you cross the famous Hampta Pass.
Start early morning and ascend towards the pass through snow patches, rocky terrain, and high-altitude landscapes. Reach the summit of Hampta Pass (approx. 14,100 ft) and witness breathtaking views of the surrounding Himalayan ranges.
Descend towards Siagoru campsite, entering the beautiful and contrasting landscapes of Lahaul Valley.
Trek Distance: Approx. 8–9 km
Duration: 7–9 hours
Altitude: Approx. 14,100 ft
Overnight Stay: Siagoru Camp
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner
DAY 4: SIAGORU – CHATRIU – CHANDRATAL LAKE – CHATRIU
After breakfast, trek down towards Chatru through the rugged landscapes of Lahaul Valley.
From Chatru, drive towards the breathtaking Chandratal Lake (subject to weather and road conditions). Explore the crystal-clear waters of this high-altitude lake surrounded by majestic Himalayan peaks.
Return back to Chatru campsite for overnight stay.
Drive Distance: Approx. 40 km (depending on road conditions)
Duration: 3–4 hours drive
Overnight Stay: Chatru Camp
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner
DAY 5: CHATRU– MANALI DEPARTURE
After breakfast, start your drive back to Manali through the scenic roads of Lahaul Valley.
Enjoy the beautiful mountain landscapes, rivers, and valleys before reaching Manali, marking the end of your Hampta Pass adventure.
Drive Distance: Approx. 85 km
Duration: 4–6 hours (depending on road conditions)
Meals: Breakfast
Trip Ends with beautiful memories of the Himalayas. 🏔️

TERMS & CONDITIONS
Booking & Confirmation
A booking will be confirmed only after receiving the required advance payment.
The remaining balance must be paid before the commencement of the trek/expedition.
Once confirmed, bookings are subject to the cancellation and refund policy mentioned below.
Trek Participation & Fitness
Participants must be physically fit and mentally prepared for high-altitude trekking conditions.
It is the participant’s responsibility to inform Snowshine Expeditions about any medical conditions, allergies, or health concerns before the trek.
Snowshine Expeditions reserves the right to remove any participant from the trek if their health or behaviour creates a safety risk for themselves or others.
Weather & Route Changes
Himalayan weather conditions can change rapidly. The itinerary may be modified due to weather, natural conditions, government restrictions, safety concerns, or unforeseen circumstances.
The trek leader’s decision regarding safety, route changes, or delays will be final.
No refund will be provided for unused services due to circumstances beyond our control.
Safety & Responsibility
Safety is our highest priority, but adventure activities involve inherent risks including altitude sickness, injuries, weather changes, and natural hazards.
Participants must follow instructions given by trek leaders and support staff throughout the expedition.
Snowshine Expeditions will take all reasonable safety measures but cannot be held responsible for circumstances beyond its control.
Accommodation & Facilities
Accommodation during treks will be provided as mentioned in the itinerary.
Facilities in remote Himalayan regions may be basic due to geographical limitations.
Participants should be prepared for limited network connectivity and simple mountain living conditions.
Cancellation Policy
Cancellation charges will apply depending on the time remaining before the trek departure date.
Advance payments may be non-refundable as they are used for operational arrangements.
Refunds, if applicable, will be processed after deducting applicable charges.
Personal Belongings
Participants are responsible for their personal belongings, valuables, and equipment during the trek.
Snowshine Expeditions will not be responsible for loss, damage, or theft of personal items.
Environmental Responsibility
Participants must respect Himalayan ecosystems and local communities.
Littering, damaging nature, or disrespecting local traditions is strictly prohibited.
Agreement
